Hypothetical

The Hypothetical route.

There is no map data to support this possible route, other than topographical maps. There is some evidence of old road beds and a possible bridge abutment to suggest that might have existed.

The hypothesis is that Rufus Flynt used some existing roads, but also carved out a short cut that reduced the ascents & descents required. To avoid climbing Hovey Rd and descending BaldPeak road, he carved a short cut between elevations 550-600 feet

From the quarry (570f,) this route follows the other suggested routes, until the intersection of Upper Palmer-Hovey-Warriner (586f.) From that point, it followed the path of the existing Upper Palmer road, until somewhere before the Southern end of the Children's Colony road (540f,) where it veered to the West (behind the buildings,) but still heading North, gradually gaining elevation, until intersecting with the existing Bald Peak road.
