Even though my parents & my favorite Aunt were associated with the Monson State Hospital (My Mother trained as a nurse there & my Father after graduating from Stockbridge, worked on the grounds (both pre-WW2) & Aunt Teresa was for many years the Principal of the school,) this presentation is not concerned so much with Institutional History, but more with earlier land use. Besides, that institutional history is covered on other sites, some of which are mentioned below.
